IPR PhD Physics Admission 2026: Brief Overview
The Institute for Plasma Research (IPR), Gandhinagar, under the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), invites highly motivated candidates for its PhD programme in Physics for the academic year 2026. This is a prestigious opportunity to conduct research in experimental, theoretical, and computational plasma physics, including work on ADITYA and SST-1 Tokamaks. Selected candidates will be registered under the Homi Bhabha National Institute (HBNI). Candidates with M.Sc. Physics/Applied Physics or 4-year B.Sc. Physics degrees who have qualified GATE, JEST, or CSIR-UGC-JRF are eligible to apply.🎓 Eligibility Criteria

🔬 Selection Procedure
1. Shortlisting: Based on national level exam scores (GATE/JEST/NET).
2. Interview: Shortlisted candidates must appear for a Personal Interview (PI) at IPR.
3. Final Selection: Purely based on interview performance.
4. Travel Support: Sleeper class rail fare will be reimbursed for attending the interview.
Important Note: Registration for PhD will be with Homi Bhabha National Institute (HBNI). Hostel accommodation is limited and shared; preference is given to Women and PWD candidates.
