1. Nationality
The applicant must be a Citizen of India.
2. Age Limit (As on 01.07.2026)
- Minimum Age: 20 Years | Maximum Age: 28 Years
- General and EWS category candidates' dates of birth must fall between 01.07.1998 and 01.07.2006 (both dates inclusive).
- Age Relaxation: SC / ST Candidates: 5 Years | OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) Candidates: 3 Years | PwBD Candidates: 10 Years.
- NAPS Note: Candidates registered under the National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS) must be less than 34 years old as on 01.07.2026.
3. Educational Qualification (As on 31.07.2026)
- Candidates must possess a Degree (Graduation) in any discipline from a university recognized by the Government of India.
- The final result of the graduation must be officially declared on or before 31.07.2026.
- For NATS Registered Candidates: The graduation final result must have been declared between 01.03.2022 and 31.07.2026 (both dates inclusive).
- Experience Disqualification: Anyone who has already undergone apprenticeship training elsewhere or has regular work/job experience of one year or more after completing graduation is not eligible.

📝 IOB Apprentice Selection Process & Exam Pattern 2026
The structured selection framework consists of three distinct phases: an Online Written Test, a Test of Local Language, and a Medical/Document Verification round.
Phase 1: Online Written Test (Objective Type)
The entrance examination is entirely remote and conducted online. Candidates will attend using their own front-camera-enabled device (Desktop, Laptop, Tablet, or Smartphone).

Important Exam Rules:
- There are no minimum qualifying marks for individual subjects.
- Candidates must score minimum aggregate qualifying marks decided by the bank. A 5% relaxation on aggregate cut-off is provided to SC/ST/OBC/PwBD candidates.
- If two candidates score equal aggregate marks at the cut-off point, the candidate who is senior by age will be placed higher in the merit tier.
Phase 2: Test of Local Language
- Candidates can apply for training seats from only ONE State/UT (preferably their home region).
- You must be proficient in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding the local language of that specific state.
- Exemption Rule: Candidates who can produce a 10th or 12th standard marksheet/certificate proving they studied the opted local language as a subject do not need to take the language proficiency test.
💰 Monthly Stipend Structure
Selected apprentices will be engaged under a contract period of one year. The monthly stipend includes the Government of India DBT subsidy share of Rs. 6,150/-:
- Metro Branches: Rs. 15,500/- pm (Bank: Rs. 9,350 + Govt: Rs. 6,150)
- Urban Branches: Rs. 14,500/- pm (Bank: Rs. 8,350 + Govt: Rs. 6,150)
- Semi-Urban / Rural Branches: Rs. 14,000/- pm (Bank: Rs. 7,850 + Govt: Rs. 6,150)
- Note: Apprentices are strictly not eligible for any extra allowances, hostel facilities, or medical benefits. Unauthorized leaves will lead to proportionate stipend cuts.

- Daily Hours: Working hours mirror the standard daily timelines applicable to the Bank's clerical staff.
- Leave Entitlement: Apprentices get 1 day of casual leave per month (a total of 12 days for the entire year).
- Maximum Stretch: A candidate can take a maximum of 4 consecutive days of leave at one time.
- Regular Status Disclaimer: Apprentices are trainees under the Act and not regular employees. IOB has no binding obligation to offer permanent jobs during or after training.
