Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) has officially released the notification and detailed prospectus for JNV Class 11 Lateral Entry Selection Test (LEST) 2027 for the academic session 2027-28. This selection test is conducted to fill vacant seats in Class 11 across Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas nationwide. Eligible students studying in Class 10 during the session 2026-27 in government or government-recognized schools can submit their online registration forms on or before the last date, 30 September 2026.

100% Fee Exemption: All Girls, SC, ST, PwD, and BPL family students are completely exempted from paying Vidyalaya Vikas Nidhi. Education, board, and lodging are 100% free.
🎓 Detailed Eligibility Criteria
- Academic Qualification: Candidates must be currently studying in Class X (Session 2026-27) in a Govt or Govt Recognized school (CBSE or other state/national board) in the same district where the JNV is functioning. Students passed out prior to session 2026-27 are not eligible.
- Age Limit Requirements: Student must be born between 01 June 2010 and 31 July 2012 (both dates included). This age criteria applies uniformly to all categories including SC, ST, OBC, and Divyang candidates.
- Residential & School Status: Candidate is eligible to apply for vacant seats only in the JNV of the district where they are studying Class X in the session 2026-27.

🎯 Critical Marking Rules & Stream Merit Calculation (Out of 60 Marks):
- No Negative Marking: There is no negative marking for incorrect answers.
- Sectional Cut-off: Candidates must score a minimum of 06 marks (30%) in each of the 5 subjects individually.
- Science Stream Merit: Mental Ability + Science + Mathematics
- Commerce Stream Merit: Mental Ability + Social Science + Mathematics
- Humanities Stream Merit: Mental Ability + Social Science + (1 Highest Scored Subject from remaining 3)
- Vocational Stream Merit: Mental Ability + (2 Highest Scored Subjects from remaining 4)
