National Testing Agency (NTA) has officialy invited online applications for the University Grants Commission (UGC) National Eligibility Test (NET) / Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) December 2026 Examination. This nationwide entrance examination determines the eligibility of Indian nationals for 'Assistant Professor' as well as 'Junior Research Fellowship and Assistant Professor' in Indian Universities and Colleges.
Candidates possessing a Master's Degree or pursuing their final year with minimum required percentage, as well as 4-Year Bachelor Degree holders, can apply online between 08/10/2026 and 28/10/2026. 🎓 Qualification Criteria
- Master's Degree: Passed or appearing in Master's Degree in concerned/related subject with minimum 55% Marks (50% for SC/ST/OBC/PwD).
- 4-Year Bachelor's Degree: Candidates with a 4-Year Bachelor Degree are also eligible to apply for NET/JRF.
- Appearing Candidates: Candidates awaiting their final year result can also apply conditionally.
⏳ Age Limit Specifications
- Junior Research Fellowship (JRF): Maximum 30 Years (Age relaxation as per NTA rules).
- Assistant Professor (NET): No Upper Age Limit for Assistant Professorship.
- Relaxation: 5 Years relaxation for OBC-NCL, SC, ST, PwD, Third Gender, and Women applicants.
